FAVORITES

I wanted to start this portfolio off with some snapshots of favorites. I’ll use this section for vignettes of projects, glimpses of designs that were interesting to work on, or where the solution we arrived at was particularly satisfying. There’s a lot of work for me to add here, and more sections below to review now. I’ll update this page often as there’s a lot of fun work I have to show.

 

EUROFED

Eurofed Automotive is a well-known luxury vehicle maintenance shop with branches around metro Atlanta. They specialize in performance enhancements for luxury cars and exotics. My experience as a satisfied customer inspired me to pitch a new brand that would better convey the level of professionalism they provide - regardless of spending level.

OUTSHINE

Outshine Sports is a startup that offers extracurricular sports programs for children. They focus on helping kids find fun in sports, while eliminating score-keeping and comparison factors – much like progressive schooling systems in the area. The mark was developed to convey the fun and positive attitude of the brand’s mission - to educate by FUNdamentals.

SERVICES PROVIDED

  • new logo: develop a new mark that conveys the spirit of the brand

  • brand message: develop a supporting message (aka ‘tagline’) for the brand

  • logo variants: show how logo can be used when reversed, one color, full color and on vivid backgrounds

  • brand environment: brief exploration into brand environment possibilities

  • wearable design: palettes for three t-shirt designs

  • outdoor signage and banner: prepare vinyl graphics for corrugated plastic signs and a large outdoor banner

Bloomingdale’s - Emergence and B2 Creative

I’ve worked on approximately 26 Bloomingdale’s catalogs, primarily in typography and layout design as designer working with Creative Leads and Production. I developed conceptual prototypes for future catalogs, contributed photography styling ideas and solved problematic layouts. I wore several other hats in this role, including image manipulation, procuring photography props, and management of typography treatments.

 
 
 
 

SERVICES PROVIDED

  • layout design: produced layouts based on agreed product and information density

  • layout solution: reworked problematic layouts to satisfy creative demands of client-side decision makers

  • exploratory design: developed physical, hand-held models of potential publication styles for future catalogs

  • post production: process product photography for use in catalog, including image manipulation, composites, touch-up and silhouette creation for isolated products

  • video processing: created media from still imagery timed to match the pace of background music (not my forté, but I think it worked out quite well)

BLUESPOT

Bluespot was a startup whose goal was to simplify the property title aspect of home buying. Although the project did not receive funding, the team who hired me were very pleased with the work. I include this brand because I think it’s important to point out that better brands result when decision makers meet with creative from the onset - before an entity is even named.
